Ajith Fernando

Chairman

Mr. Fernando is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK and holds an MA in Financial Economics from the University of Colombo. He presently serves as the Managing Director of Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC. He founded Capital Alliance which is a leading investment bank in Sri Lanka in the year 2000 and currently functions as the Group Chief Executive Officer. Prior to this he has worked with some of the leading financial institutions in Sri Lanka and has over 25 years’ experience in the money and capital markets.

Saminda Deshapriya

Director/CEO

Mr. Deshapriya is a Member of Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Sri Lanka and a Member of Association of Business Executives (MABE), UK. He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Birmingham City University, UK and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the Australian Institute of Business (AIB), Adelaide, Australia. He is currently reading for MicroMasters in Supply Chain Management from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA. He presently serves as the Chief Operating Officer of Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC and has over 13 years of experience in Logistics and Operations.

Gayani de Alwis

Director

Mrs. de Alwis is an experienced supply chain professional with over two decades of experience in the profession, locally and overseas. She was the former Director of Customer Service of Unilever Sri Lanka. She is the current Chairperson of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, Sri Lanka (CILT). She is a Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, UK (CILT). She holds a Master of Business Administration from the PIM, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. She holds Master of Science in Food Technology and Process Engineering from the University of Reading, UK.

Chrisantha Perera

Director

Associated with the Tea Industry for over 50 years. Retired as Chairman/CEO of Forbes & Walker Ltd in 2005 after serving this Company for 44 years. Presently serves as the Chairman of Ceylon Tea Brokers PLC. Further, he serves on the Boards of two Plantation Companies and their respective holding Companies as well as other public listed and private companies. He is presently an Appointed Member of the Monetary Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka. A former Chairman of the Sri Lanka Tea Board, Sri Lanka Insurance Corporation Ltd., Public Enterprises Reform Commission and Bank of Ceylon.

Waruna De Silva

Director

Waruna de Silva has over 20 years’ experience in Tea Brokering and has been with Ceylon Tea Brokers since 2008 and was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer of the Company on 01st April, 2017.

He holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the Cardiff Metropolitan University UK, a MSC in Supply Chain Management and a MSC in Human Resource Management. He is also a passed finalist of CMA Australia.

Waruna completed his Executive education on Strategy and leadership from Wharton Business School Philadelphia (USA) and holds the ADP Certificate.

He also completed Executive Education in Strategy & Enterprise transformation from Rice University, Houston and MIT Sloan Business School, Boston, USA.

He is currently a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) candidate at the University of Kelaniya.

Hasitha Hewage

Manager – Business Development & Operations

Mr. Hewage is an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), UK and holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Logistics and Supply Chain Management from Birmingham City University, UK. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (BCom.) Degree from University of Kelaniya and he is currently reading for Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the PIM, University of Sri Jayewardenepura. He previously worked as a Product Executive for world’s leading storage and material handling equipment brands at Diesel & Motor Engineering PLC (DIMO).
